Andrey Arshavin is in line to make his Arsenal debut against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Russian midfielder will certainly be involved but, speaking to Arsenal TV Online on Thursday, Arsène Wenger was unsure whether he would start against Ricky Sbragia’s side.
The 27-year-old’s only experience since signing from Zenit St Peterburg came at Tottenham a fortnight ago. He was named on the bench but did not come on.
“He will be involved,” said Wenger. “But I have not decided what I will do with him yet."
Of course, any new signing needs an adaption period in English football. The only question mark over Arshavin is whether he can have a positive influence on Arsenal’s quest for a Champions League spot in the final three months of the season. But, despite being in pre-season training with Zenit when he signed, his physical fitness should not be a problem.
“He is still working on preparation and he is not qualified for the game against Roma so we can give him another week of hard work," said Wenger. "At the end of next week, that will be three weeks with us and one week with Zenit, that should be enough.”
Elsewhere, Emmanuel Eboue is back from suspension and Johan Djourou is fit following his sickness on Monday night.
Abou Diaby (thigh) is not quite ready yet. Mikael Silvestre (thigh), Emmanuel Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas (knee), Theo Walcott (shoulder), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring tendon) are still on the injured list. (hamstring),

I feel more and more depressed after looking at the table...and also at the poll on BPL's official website. WTH, please! I won't blame it on football fans though..it is just the way things seem to be at the moment. It is all because of a really, really poor start. And what..last season was like fabulous compared to this. And after last season, there was all this talk about how this season, Arsenal will do even better and stuff. But it doesn't seem to be that way! Goodness. I hate admitting it but Man United do look 'untouchable' at the moment. UGHHHHHH! I don't think Arsenal will win BPL this season...my mind says that...my heart tells me its not over yet. But for once, I shall not go with my instincts. And I hope I won't be left to dread this entire 09/10 season, after it ends. Because not qualifying for UEFA will mean that there is a possibility of loosing key players...and Arsenal can't afford to do that /:
So hopefully Arshavin will make an impression against Sunderland. And ANOTHER stroke of bad luck...Eduardo pulled his hamstring and is out for two weeks. Great. Fabulous. UGHHHH!
Okay digresssing back to my life. Let me forget about all this irritation...so, we got our timetable today. I am not swimming PE this term. So yea. I only end past four on one day (: So thats a good thing. And I also have ALOT of breaks in between as I DROPPED MOTHER TONGUE! YAYY. And yes, I don't like the mother tongue I took as a subject. I TOTALLY DESPISED IT. YUCKKKSSSSS.
So we had this personality test today. I almost fell asleep..after awhile. Actually, it was interesting. But I was just so drained out..so I fell asleep ): I have Acsian Theatre tmr...CCA 'Orientation' I guess. AHHAHA. A lot of other things happened today as well. As usual, a lot of crazy-ness...a lot of madness...a lot of laughter. But anyway, it is too long to be mentioned here. So basically, to put it in short, Anglo-Chinese Junior College rocks to the maximum (:
I also met Deyi yesterday...just sort of ran into him in the bus. He is in HCI now. OMG. Smart ass! hahahah! It was so weird as I couldn't recognise him at first. It would be so weird to say hi to a stranger anyway. Then I messaged him,'Are you like in the same bus as me?' and then he waved to me. AHAHHA. Was super funny. No wonder...it looked so familiar. And then we went to Bukit Panjang Plaza..where we met PeiJun...after such a long time. Then we went to Popular..then to library..then said goodbye and went back home (: I also ran into Jo yesterday. AHAHAH! So weird to meet people coincidentally so many times in one day, right? /:
Okay..so lessons are starting seriously next week. I will miss Moomba ): ): And it is merely a start to the hectic schedule I have ahead of me. So, wish me all the best (: HAHAA. So now, I have to start doing all my tutorials. Chem tutorial is like...SUPER LONG. Eighteen long, long questions! ): ): So yea...wish me all the best for that, too (: HAHAH. And wish Arsenal all the best for their next match. MUST BUCK UP!!! Okay..sorry, but I promise I will post the V day messages the next post!
All right. Gonna end it here. BUH-BYEE!

Not that it helps that much. The self-proclaimed number one babe magnet at The Emirates simply spends his days opening fan mail containing photos - among other things - and requests for his phone number from gaa-gaa fans.
It's enough to drive a man mad - but not Nasri, who has long since grown accustomed to his sex-symbol status and deals with it like any red-blooded male - by seeking refuge in video games.
The French winger of Algerian descent, signed for ?12m from Marseille in the summer, said: 'I spend lots of time at home playing Pro Evolution Soccer. Ever since I have been a professional footballer it has been harder for me to go out and not be noticed.
'Especially by female fans. I have never had any problems with women I often get letters from girls, who send me their phone numbers and photos. They want to contact me because I am a footballer.'
It's not all fun for Nasri though. He is starting to tire of his virtual life behind drawn curtains and now wants to find true love.
And he modestly added: 'Things have always worked for me in the female department - but I want people to be interested in me for who I am and not for my money.'
It's not good enough being beautiful for Nasri - he also dresses the part too and admitted that the fashion police regularly patrol the Arsenal dresssing room.
And any items of clothing deemed an eyesore are sent to Room 101, accompanied by hoots of derision.Nasri actually admitted he has a rival in the eye-candy stakes, revealing: 'The most stylish footballer I have ever met is Djibril Cisse at Marseille.
'Everyone knows he is fashion-conscious.
'But everybody at Arsenal dresses well - and they have an interest in doing so.Labels: Nasri and Turkey
