I am at work and I am blogging. Wow, I am such a good employee and I might be screwed if my boss finds me. But what the hell, who gives a shit? I am leaving in 3 days and not gonna look back again. So whatever. I don't care. Yes, I am that apathetic.
Guess what I was doing 10 min ago? HAHAH. I was reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. My copy of the book is like...an artefact. Something of such importance. It doesn't contain that much of history...but enough to mean a lot to me. Yes, the pages are all stained yellow and a lot of its edges of the cover might be chipping off, revealing the yellow pages beneath it. And on the cover page, I see my HUGE handwriting from when I was in primary school. And I had written there the exact date I had bought the book. Wow. It brings back memories when I first got my hands on the book and started reading the first chapter, The Boy Who Lived. Wow, this IS childhood. (Well at least a significant part of it.)
I am not a humungous Harry Potter fan like some. But I love the series and they mean a lot to me. Hold a lot of significance which reminds me of childhood and primary school days when I used to carry the bulky Golblet of Fire and Order of Phoenix books to school to read during recess breaks. No, I am not an avid reader. But this book..is something. How can a kid not be enticed by the magic in the book. Not just the magic they do with their respective wands. But also..the wizard games like Quidditch..how cool their lessons are in contrast to our (er humph) school lessons which are OBVIOUSLY a lot less funner. Hahah. Not that I'm complaining. They are both from two totally different worlds.
But anyway, here comes the poignant moment on 12 July where THE LAST installment of the HP movie series will be released. And it pretty much marks the official end of childhood to many. From the beginning where JKR portrays a scrawny boy with round glasses and a lightning scar in his forehead to him growing up with his friends, Ron and Hermione, and conquering the Dark Lord and the most feared wizard in the wizarding world..wow..JKR is a genius. It's kinda bittersweet..like the whole series ending and all. But ofcourse she cannot continue writing forever until Harry becomes a grandfather or something. But ofcourse, all good things have to come to an end. And omg..finally Ron and Hermione get together. Like FINALLYYY.
And omg Snape. I love you. His unwavering loyalty and love for Lily Potter jus makes me cringe every time I read his story in Deathly Hallows. Yes, he might have unintentionally made a mistake and revealed the prophecy to Voldemort which eventually resulted in the death of Lily Potter. And yes, he did join the Death Eaters at first at his own will. But he sacrificed the rest of his life to protect the son of the woman he loved. Pretty heroic, don't you think? So much so that his patronus resembles Lily's implying that he has loved her for almost the whole of his life. Woah. He might be sorta a pure blood supremacist, smthg he probably he inherited from the Slytherin tradition. But his bravery is trully remarkable.
Oh wells. Its kinda sad to realise that this is the end of the series. But HP will never die. Never. It has touched so many people's hearts and has affected so many people in so many ways. I will probably keep my yellow stained artefact of the Philosopher's stone and its condition might worsen so much so that the pages become incredibly brittle. Not that they already are..but I guess it might worsen. Thats what I meant. But it still signifies so much.
Rewatched the Deathly Hallows movie yesterday. But I jus wished the director didn't make the series seem to dark and gloomy even though that was kinda the situation in the last book. But he could have made the mood slightly lighter.
Jus a thought thats all.
Okay I shall leave it here now before I get eternally screwed for misusing the internet. ;D
And I hope Fabregas wouldn't leave ;( PLEASE DON'T. Please Please.
